New Roof

Erecting tubular scaffolding to the main elevations for safe working access to the roof.

Taking off the existing covering to the main roof slopes

Denailing the rafters, fitting eave trays to the rafters.

Fitting new breathable felting, this to be tacked to the rafters.

Fitting new timber treated battens these to be nailed to the rafters.

Fitting new tiles colour and make of your choice.

Fitting new ventilation tiles to the roof slopes.

Fitting lead to all abutments then sealing to make water tight, once the lead has been fitted it will be cleaned using Patination Oil to protect the lead.

Fitting new ridge tiles, these to be bedded on using 3 parts sand and 1 part cement.

 

Flat Roof

Taking off the existing flat roof covering excluding the boarding to the flat roof.

Fixing three layers of felt.

Layer 1 to be of perforated torch-on felt fixed using tacks.
Layer 2 to be of high performance, underlay, torch on roofing felt.
Layer 3 to be of Axter Force Line 4 high performance, non rip Charcoal slate chip finished

torch on mineral felt.

All drips and upstands to be of Axter Force Line 4 high performance, non rip Charcoal slate chip finished torch on mineral felt.

All Axter felts are:-
i) Quality assured to ISO 9002 & BS 8217 : 1994
ii) Reinforced with glass fibre and polyester bases
iii) Incorporating SBS polymer modified bitumen coatings

Manufacturers give a 15 year guarantee on the felt, the life expectancy is 25 years. You will also receive our 15 year guarantee on the felting once the work has been completed and payment received.

 

Single ply Polymeric roofing membrane "Schedetal"

Carefully strip off the existing flat roof covering, lower to ground level and remove from site.

Provide and apply new roof decking and securely fasten to the existing timer joists.

Provide and apply all necessary drip battens, kerbs and upstands etc to receive the new high performance FPO flame free eco friendly roof waterproofing system.

Provide and secure all necessary drips, wall flashings and roof terminations.

Ensure all screws/nails are driven fully home and are flush to the top surface of the new roof decking. 

Remove all loose debris from the new roof surface.

Carefully apply and spread XL bonding adhesive to the entire area of flat decking in strict accordance with the written instructions.

Provide and apply ExtruPol fleece backed flame free ECO friendly single ply waterproofing membrane onto the XL bonding adhesive.

Form and apply ExtruPol detailing membrane and all necessary accessories

All laps, end joints and detailing to be fused together to form one homogenous waterproof covering using ‘Hot Air Welding Equipment.

All laps, end joints and detailing to be fully examined and tested using a ‘Seam Probe.

Manufacturers give a 15 year guarantee on the Schedetal single ply membrane, the life expectancy is 30yrs+. You will also receive our 15 year written guarantee on the membrane once the work has been completed and payment received.

Flashing

Using an angle grinder to cut a groove into the wall and fitting a new lead flashing, using wedges to hold the lead in place and then sealed using a weather proof silicone sealant to make water tight.

Once the lead has been fitted it will be cleaned using Patination Oil to protect the lead.

 

Skylight

Removing tiles and taking off the battens and felt (if fitted), reconfiguring the rafters to allow the fitting of the new Velux skylights including flashings, as per manufacturers recommendations, fitting tiles to enclose the skylight surrounds to ensure the roof is left in water-tight condition.
